A male condom is a thin sheath that covers the penis during intercourse and is made of one of the following materials such as Rubber (latex), Plastic (polyurethane); the best alternative for people allergic to latex or Lambskin.

The male condom is rolled over the erect or hardened penis and prevents against direct contact between the penis and vagina thus not letting the seamen from entering the vagina. The latex condoms can also protect against STIs including HIV. Testing of the plastic, polyurethane condoms suggests that they also protect against infections; however, this is not verified. However lambskin condoms do not protect against STDs and HIV's it is thus purely used only for birth control. Also using spermicide in addition to the condom improves pregnancy prevention. There are advantages of using a condom like it is the best method for reducing the risk of STIs for those who choose to have intercourse. As every thing has disadvantages the condom also has some disadvantages like some people are allergic to latex. Some individuals argue that condoms reduce sensitivity and pleasure during intercourse. It is absolutely true that condoms may break if they are put on incorrectly.
